Country Park Wildlife

With around 600 acres of varied habitat and rich wildlife, Mugdock is a unique place to discover.

Our wide range of habitats, flora, and fauna makes Mugdock a unique place to visit. Throughout the year, wildlife surveys and conservation management projects are carried out, by the Ranger Service and Conservation Volunteers, for the benefit of the Country Park's rich biodiversity. With around 600 acres of meadow and moorland, wetland and woodland, freshwater and farmland, it's a great place to be immersed in nature.

  • Current Wildlife Sightings

    Mugdock is a great place to see wildlife, so why not grab your boots and head out to see what you can spot?

    Our varied habitats are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. Throughout the year, the Ranger Service keep a close eye on wildlife, recording whatever calls Mugdock its home. From secretive roe deer and pine marten, to stunning displays of wildflowers and a wide variety of summer migrant birds, there’s a lot to be found.

    Surveys include butterflies, bats, and black grouse. If you would be interested in assisting with any of these surveys please Contact Us 

    The Ranger Service manages the local wildlife records for East Dunbartonshire so if you have any interesting wildlife records please let us know.
