Walking at Mugdock

Walk Mugdock

The 'Walk Mugdock' guides and the Park Map are available to buy from the Visitor Centre Shop.

What do I need to know?
Mugdock Country Park is situated north of East Dunbartonshire and south-west of Stirling. It comprises 270 hectares of woodland, moorland and heathland and is connected by a network of paths. It contains a loch, 2 castles, a stables complex and walled garden.

What shall I wear?
Stout shoes or boots are best as some of the tracks go over wet and rough ground. Take waterproofs in case it rains.

What else should I take?
A drink and a snack would be handy. It's a good excuse to stop for a rest and admire the view. Food and refreshments are available from outlets in the Visitor Centre near the Courtyard.

Can I take my dog?
Yes, but always keep it under close control or on a lead if there are sheep.

Should I keep to the tracks?
Yes, keep to the route shown and remember that you'll be walking through other peoples workplaces (farming, forestry etc).

What else should I know?
Check your map and route before you go - can you make it? If alone, let someone know where you are going. Follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and take notice of any signs along the way.

How can we help you?
