Mugdock Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and it's purposes are:
To preserve, restore, enhance and maintain features and items of historical, natural and ecological interest in or germane to Mugdock Country Park for the benefit of the general public;
To advance the education of the general public and to promote a wider appreciation amongst the general public of the natural beauty and the history and heritage of Mugdock Country Park and its environs;
To work with the Park’s Joint Management Committee to achieve these purposes.
Since being established in 1991, the Trust has concentrated on specific areas within the Park. Work carried out by Trustees to date has included:
Repair work to Mugdock Castle;
Interpretation of the Castle for visitors including establishing a Clan Graham room;
Organising Castle Capers, family days featuring activities and attractions I and around Mugdock Castle;
Volunteering as Castle stewards during weekend opening to the public to give guided tours;
Organising talks for the public, with an historical focus;
Participating in five-yearly visits from the North American Clan Graham Society to Mugdock Castle;
Organising and running a cinema club fortnightly at the Park theatre.
An Action Plan has been agreed by Trustees which sets out a series of recommendations. The main area of activity will centre around work to Mugdock Castle. Strong links have already been forged with the Clan Graham Society of North America and these will continue. Clan Graham
