Get out and about, enjoy the fresh air and improve your health as you join this Ranger led walk on good paths from Bishopbriggs to Possil. This walk is about 1 hour 30 minutes long. Calling all 8 – 12 year olds! Join the Ranger Service to learn all about camouflage and explore the woodlands for animals that like to remain hidden! Cost £5. Booking essential.

Get your Hands Dirty, Kirkintilloch

Wear your wellies and help take care of Merkland Local Nature Reserve. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet the Ranger in the Reserve car park off Merkland Drive, Kirkintilloch, G66 3SF. Free.

Make and decorate an A5 notebook or decorate a photo frame

Join the fun with Scottish writer Jo Hall and JoJo Gnome at Mugdock Country Park. for 'JoJo Gnome’s Easter Story Fun’. Join the East Dunbartonshire Children's Chorus and Youth Choir at the Walled Garden on their tour across East Dunbartonshire visiting sites featured in their latest musical celebration of local tales and heritage. Listen out for the tales and songs of Charlie the Elephant at Craigend Zoo, the Romans of the Antonine Wall, the Water Treatment Works and the Bennie Railplane amongst others. Written by Peter Kemp as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, with Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland and the Milngavie Music Club. Free.

Become a Castle Steward Volunteer Info Session
Mugdock, Tuesday 18th April and Thursday 20th April at 2pm

Mugdock Castle is open to visitors at weekends between June and September and relies on dedicated castle steward volunteers to staff the facility and inform visitors of Mugdock’s history. We are looking for additional volunteers to come on board, so pop along and have a chat with us, no experience necessary. Call 0141 956 6100 for more details or simply turn up on the day.

Hand Felt Brooch Making for Adults

Mugdock, Sunday 14th May, 1pm-4.30pm

Join Lucy to hand stitch at least two felt brooches or other items e.g. bookmarks and coasters. The workshop will cover an introduction to sewing felt, a simple project to get you started, tips on how to design your own items then a more complex project either from one of the templates provided or from your own design. Felt is included for 6 items, at least two items will be made during the workshop and the remaining felt will be given as part of a kit to take home. A tea/coffee and a piece of cake is also included, making is thirsty work. This workshop is for adults and is suitable for beginner sewers. £22.50 per person Booking essential.
