A celebration of Scottish based bands interpreting music genre from around the globe. This years annual music festival differs from previous years as we move indoors for the first time. We have invited some great local performers, some who have been doing the circuit for many years. We also have some exciting and up and coming professional bands making a name for themselves on both sides of the Atlantic. This year and in memory of Erne Parkin, our fesival director over recent years, we will be raising funds for his favourite charity, 'The Suzy Appeal' whose aim is feeding Aids Orphans in Africa. As part of the 2010 Mugdock Music Fest we have organised an Open Mic Competition. Solo and group performers will have the chance to compete for the Erne Parkin award. There will be cash prizes for the best entrants and the award will be presented to the successful contestant who demonstrates the best overall performance of original material. The winner will be given free recording studio time at The Audio Lounge and have the opportunity to appear at the evenings Celtic Concert.
The competition is open to non-professional singer/songwriters and groups who are able to perform two of their own songs on the day and will be judged by representatives of the music industry.
