Plot: The story tells of train engineer Jacques Lantier (Jean Gabin) who lusts after Séverine Roubaud (Simone Simon), the wife of his co-worker Roubaud (Fernand Ledoux).Roubaud, discovers that his young wife, Séverine, has been seduced by her godfather, the wealthy Grandmorin. Jealous, Roubaud forces Séverine to assist in the murder of Grandmorin during a train journey. The murder is witnessed by a railway worker, Jacques Lantier, but he keeps quiet because he is in love with Séverine. Disgusted by what her husband has done, Séverine has an affair with Lantier and pleads with him to kill her cruel husband. Little does she know that Lantier also has a dark secret. Described as " Cool and Classy" by List Magazine, Edinburgh born Lorna is in great demand for her performances. The Lorna Reid Quartet comes to Mugdock with a mixture of Jazz, Blues and Lounge style music.
The latest album "Gypsy in My Soul" is a collection of standards having influences from Anita O'Day to Peggy Lee and was recently featured on the B.B.C. Radio Programme "Jazz House". Come and join us, enjoy the company, the music and a complimentary glass of wine. Tickets £11 / £10

Back by popular demand as David runs many successful courses. Meet over tea and coffee at 10am to have a slide show of ideas then have a morning walk in Mugdock to take photos. Followed by lunch and a discussion of the morning's photographs. An afternoon walk with more photos to take then review them in the theatre. (There is a wet-weather programme if necessary). This is aimed at adult beginners, but any standard of photographer is welcome. Children 12 ok if accompanied by an adult. Cost £20 per adult, £10 per accompanied child.
