Green Hollow Bowmen meet regularly in the park and welcome members from age nine upwards, from those looking for a bit of relaxation at the weekend to those aspiring to national competition. They also host "come and try archery" sessions at the park so that visitors can try their hands at this ancient sport - see the park events programme for details.
Green Hollow Bowmen meet throughout the year on Sundays and also on Thursday evenings during the summer months. They are a longbow group, dedicated to keeping alive not only the use of the traditional British longbow but also the crafts associated with longbow making and fletching. Affiliated to the British Longbow Society, they meet to enjoy shooting traditional target and clout rounds in the good old-fashioned two-way style.
The club runs several come and try longbow archery events for the general public each year at Mugdock Country Park with all profits going to park funds. For details, see either the club website or the parks event guide. Green Hollow Bowmen also run an annual six-week beginners course in the autumn for people wishing to take up archery. This is open to all from age fourteen to adult.
The club welcomes new members, male and female, from around the age of 11 to adult. Annual membership costs £20 for adults and £10 for those under sixteen, plus affiliation fees to the BLBS (£4 annually for adults and £2 for juniors, plus an initial £2 joining fee)
