**MUGDOCK CASTLE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC**

Mugdock Castle Tower will be open to the public, 2-4pm and most weekends thereafter through until the end of September.  Please call 0141 956 6100 or check our website to confirm a specific date in advance. Adults £2, Children £1.50, under 5’s free.

Hand Felt Brooch Making for Adults 

MugdockSunday 2nd July, 1pm-4.30pm

Join Lucy to hand stitch at least two felt brooches or other items e.g. bookmarks and coasters. The workshop will cover an introduction to sewing felt, a simple project to get you started, tips on how to design your own items then a more complex project either from one of the templates provided or from your own design. Felt is included for 6 items, at least two items will be made during the workshop and the remaining felt will be given as part of a kit to take home. A tea/coffee and a piece of cake is also included, making is thirsty work. Mugdock’s Geological Past

Friday 7th July 10am – 3pm

Mugdock Country Park offers a wealth of landscape features that tell us a great deal about the past. On this Ranger led guided walk, you will learn the basics of the geological earth surface processes which contribute to how the landscape of the country park looks the way it does today. This walk will visit some of our landscape features and viewpoints, offering spectacular vistas of the Blane Valley, the Highland Boundary Fault and the Arrochar Alps to the north. Wear your wellies and help take care of Merkland Local Nature Reserve. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet the Ranger in the Reserve car park off Merkland Drive, Kirkintilloch, G66 3SF. Free.

TrailFest host guided social runs on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Choose from 5k or 10k distance and explore new trails around the park. Merkland Local Nature Reserve is amazing! Come along and search for some of the tiny wee creatures that live in the grasslands, ponds and woodlands. All nets and equipment provided. Meet at the car park off Merkland Drive or follow the signs to meet the Ranger. Donations welcome.

Mugstock 2017 will take place, for the third year running, in Mugdock Country Park, on the bank holiday weekend 28th-30th July 2017. Can you control your canine companion in the countryside or is your best friend just barking mad? Try out our crafty agility course and fun contests. All dogs welcome, but beginners only, please. Meet in the overflow car park near the Visitor Centre. Cost £2, with proceeds going to Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Centre.

ULTM8 WARRIOR EVENT

Mugdock, Sunday 27th August, 9am-1.30pm

Ultm8 Warrior is the UK’s first “Junior only” OCR event series! In 2017 we’ll be offering heats for the following age groups 4-6yrs (1Km), 7-9yrs (2Km) and 10-13yrs (3Km). Each heat will involve 1, 2 or 3 laps of our unique Ultm8 Warrior Obstacle Course. There will be 25+ obstacles including hurdles, net crawls, ramps, mankey bars, balance beams and more! We’ll also have our warrior themed obstacles such as the Roman shield carry with sponge throwing for parents! First three place boys & girls will get a spot on the podium!
